Cryotherapy was once regarded as an exclusive recovery treatment and biohack, reserved only for elite athletes and the ultra-wealthy. However, we are proud to offer Cryotherapy to everyone at our Recovery Rooms in Al Quoz! In simple terms, Cryotherapy is a form of “extreme cold therapy.” The most common type is whole-body cryotherapy, which involves stepping into a Cryochamber—a unique piece of equipment that lowers its temperature to a range of -100°C to -140°C. The typical treatment duration is 2-3 minutes. During this time, your body experiences various physiological changes at these ultra-low temperatures, resulting in significant benefits for both your body and brain.

There are many benefits to Cryotherapy both psychologically and physically.

How does extreme cold do all of this?

When your body is exposed to extreme cold it kickstarts many physiological reactions within the body that stimulate different processes within the body. The extreme cold narrows the blood vessels which increases the speed and efficiency of your blood’s circulation around the body. When you emerge from the machine and you start to warm up as these vessels warm they will expand creating even more efficiency of healthy oxygenated blood to your muscles.
The extreme cold also initiates the “fight or flight” process of your brain and nervous system; this asks your body to release hormones and endorphins such as adrenaline and norepinephrine. These make you feel more alert and energized. Dopamine is also released during this process of extreme cold exposure thus boosting your mood and making you feel good.

If you think all this sounds too good to be true, it’s backed up with thousands of medical studies and you can come and check it out for yourself at Recovery Rooms.
